Coffee and Vitamin C for Developing Film

Photojojo has a very unique tutorial for developing your own film without all the harsh chemicals (well, you still need fixer). The main ingredients are instant coffee and vitamin C and the results are pretty indistinguishable from a normal process. It is definitely something of a novelty, and probably not for the serious wildlife photographer, but it looks like a lot of fun!

Man Babies

Man Babies a site that is deeply disturbing, but also pretty funny. In a picture, swap dad's head with his baby's and you've got a man baby, get it?

Unleash the Power of Your PowerShot

CHDK is a firmware enhancement for many digital point and shoot cameras made by Canon. After loading CHDK, you get access to a ton of features your PowerShot normally wouldn't have.

  1. Enhanced ways of recording images: RAW, JPEG, increased video recording times, different compression options
  2. Information Displays: live histograms, always on battery life indicator, depth of focus
  3. Photographic Settings: longer exposure times (up to 65 seconds), faster shutter speeds (1/25,000 sec, and faster in some cases), automatic bracketing of exposure
  4. Scripts: programmable through scripting for creating new features (i.e. trigger shot when movement sensed, change in brightness, automatic bracketing, games)
  5. Tethered Shooting

The possibilities are seemingly endless. This is definitely a great hack and most importantly, it's non destructive to your camera. You aren't ever replacing the original firmware—just loading more things into memory on demand.

Philadelphia Trash the Dress

Brides in Philadelphia that are looking to do a Trash the Dress session, might wanna take a look at the work of Allebach Photography in Philadelphia. They have more examples of their work on their blog, but I have a feeling they haven't done an "extreme" session yet with total dress trashing. Oh, and they really liked tattooed brides.

A Million Little Pictures

Art House Shop is asking you to help them out (yes, you in that corner over there--no *you*). What do they want you ask? They want you to join the A Million Little Pictures project. All you have to do is send them $16 and shoot the film in the disposible camera they give to you. The theme is "adventures," the best photo overall wins a $200 gift card, and all the photos are featured in an exhibit in a city yet to be determined. The city will be determined by finding the city with the most participants.

Update: When signing up, I got an error, though it actually signed me up...odd. Hopefully they'll fix it and you'll have no problems.
